Sandra G. Strothers, Ph.D.

Dr. Sandra G. Strothers is the Executive Director of Jobs for New Jersey's Graduates, a workforce development program of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce Foundation. Sandra served as an Education Program Development Specialist at the New Jersey Department of Education for 17 years as the State Director of Jobs for America’s Graduates New Jersey. Prior to leading this initiative, she served as the Education Program Development Specialist/ Assistant Director of Secondary Education Program for the Division of Abbott Implementation, having worked with the department as an Education Program Development Specialist for the central region since 2001 and managed the Abbott Division’s Secondary Education Initiative for urban school districts from 2004-2008. Prior to her joining the department, Sandra directed Literacy Serve and Learn, a literacy service-learning program through a partnership with the Toledo Public Schools and Bowling Green State University for pre-service teachers and elementary schools. Dr. Strothers’ professional career extends over 20 years and includes senior-level leadership in higher education management as Executive Assistant to the President for Multicultural and Community Affairs at Ferris State University, organizational development and strategic planning, college instruction for pre-service teachers, multicultural education instruction, diversity training, tutoring and academic enrichment for elementary school children grades 3-8, service-learning, research in urban education, and educational policy development and program implementation both in K-12 and higher education settings. Dr. Strothers has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel from Kent State University and holds a Doctorate in Educational Theory and Social Foundations with a minor in Sociology from the University of Toledo.
Marc H. Strothers, Ph.D.

​Dr. Marc Strothers serves as Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of the District of Columbia. As Assistant to the Vice President, he has responsibilities in managing and supervising judicial affairs, coordinating the Student Leadership Institute and special projects as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs. Dr. Strothers has served as Chairman of the University’s Student Center Initiative and assists as an unofficial Ombudsperson for the Division of Student Affairs.
Dr. Strothers has been employed at a myriad of institutions in higher education such as Historically Black, Predominately White, Land-Grant, Commuter, and Urban campuses which spans over 24 years of service. Dr. Strothers also served as a special education teacher in the Toledo Public School System located in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Strothers taught middle and high school students with multiple disabilities or behaviorally challenged.
Dr. Strothers has been employed by Virginia State University, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Iowa State University, University of Toledo, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and the University of the District of Columbia.
Dr. Strothers received his Bachelor’s Degree from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina and his Master’s Degree in Education from Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia. He received his Ph.D. from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.
